Rather unsettling in some respects, but the constant moving taught me how to quickly adapt to new situations, and blessed me with an open mind and listening ears – an advantage in the creative industry. I trained in London back in the 80’s giving me about 25 years experience (crickey, doesn’t feel that long).
I love the spontaneity, the interaction, the mixing, the journey and the unique result. I’ve been fortunate enough to grow up in a classic kiwi rural environment.
I always enjoy the challenge of working with limited resources to come up with the best solutions. I believe in changing my perspective as much as possible to source inspiration, getting amongst our natural playground where exploration is always the driver.
I’m the roaming representative for Band.
I’ve been mates with Al & Tom & the folks at Band since forever, with many an hour spent surfing, laughing, joking & working magic on brilliant creative outcomes.
Based back in my home town, the mighty Manawatu, close to family (daughters always need their Dad close by) I’m here to introduce you to the power of Band on your business.
Being the oldest Band member, what really rocks me is experiencing the combined enthusiasm, skill and dedication of this design team in action.
I've worked in agencies in London and more recently in Devon, UK working as a designer and photographer.
Now back in my home town, I'm enjoying working with a great bunch of people and all that the Bay has to offer :)
I joined the band with the desire to work with like-minded creative thinkers and doers. I'm passionate about design and love collaborating with companies and entrepreneurs that embrace it in the same way.
When not in front of a mac, I love getting outdoors in the beautiful bay and beyond - biking, camping, swimming, playing music and cooking to name but a phew... Life is good.
Snowboarding, fine art, house-bus living, 2 whippersnippets, mt biking, design, thinking, drawing, wakeboarding, yoga, slow food and light living...
I am enthusiastic, ready to learn and surrounded by extremely talented and passionate creative people – what could be more exciting!
If I’m not at my computer working some creative magic, I’m out beating the pavement keeping fit, working on my boxing techniques at the gym or in the kitchen baking up a storm. Keeping fit and baking go hand-in-hand right – it’s all about balance :)
I arrived at Band looking to find some work experience and ended up as the intern! My passion for Art & Design has allowed me to work here as well as completing my Visual Arts & Design degree simultaneously. Whew!
Being the youngest here, the inspiration that comes from seeing the talent of the experienced designers around me is just pure gold!
My hats here include Pay Clerk, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Manager, Admin Go-To-Person and Sergeant Major (crickey these creative people don’t like following the rules).
So when I’m not working at a job that brings a smile I’m nurturing my love of family, friends, good food, wine and many forms of sport.
No other job has ever given me so many laughter lines or good coffee.
